Special Olympics Oregon provides year-round sports and athletic competitions across the state for youth and adults with intellectual disabilities. These opportunities inspire our athletes and their communities by promoting physical fitness,  demonstrating courage, unleashing joy and enabling the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with all Oregonians.

Special Olympics Oregon (SOOR) serves individuals with intellectual disabilities through year-round programs that provide opportunities for participants of all ages to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in an active, supportive community. In addition to regular sports training and competition statewide, SOOR services include:Oregon Team Wellness - Developed to improve the health and wellness of Special Olympics participants both on and off the field of play, this unique program provides year-round fitness, nutrition, food management, education and training through a curriculum uniquely adapted to individuals with intellectual disabilities. Wellness screenings are also provided for SOOR athletes by volunteer health care professionals assisting at major Special Olympics events.The Respect Campaign - Focused on Oregon schools, this initiative provides the opportunity for students with and without disabilities to collaborate and serve as leaders in organized efforts to reduce bullying, create more accepting attitudes and communities for all people, and build a "Culture of Respect" in their school environment. Unified Sports "Champion Schools" - This program joins approximately equal numbers of Special Olympics athletes and athletes without intellectual disabilities on sports teams for training and competition.
