Mission
The Community Cycling Center, founded in 1994, broadens access to bicycling and its benefits. Our vision is to build a vibrant community where people of all backgrounds use bicycles to stay healthy and connected.
About
Bike shop: The Community Cycling Center operates a full-service professional bike shop. In 2013, approximately 1,035 refurbished and 'as is' used bikes were sold. The shop also sells new accessories (helmets, locks, bike bags, etc), provides educational information and community tools as well as bicycle repair and maintenance services by professional mechanics. The bike shop provides support to all programs through outreach events and community partner initiatives. Recycling: For 2013, 2,487 bicycles were donated of which 1,736 (70%) were either refurbished for earn bike programs or sold to the public. Bicycles too unsafe to repair were responsibly recycled, redirecting over 21.8 tons of metal, rubber, and plastic from local land fills.
