About this organization
Mission
We support parks and recreation programs for everyone in Oakland. Through collaboration with Oakland’s government agencies, businesses, and community groups, the Oakland Parks and Recreation Foundation improves and expands equitable access to recreation facilities and programs across the city. As the primary civic organization promoting public support for parks, we empower Oakland communities to create spaces for people to play, celebrate, recharge, and engage.
About
Fiscal Agent - Friends provided fiscal agent account status to over 80 worthy projects and programs that benefit the community. Friends oversaw the finances of the groups to ensure that the funds are utilized for the restricted purpose of the agreed upon contract. Approval of any new custodial accounts is granted by the full board and must tie to the overall mission.
