INVESTING IN LIFELONG LEARNINGTHE FOUNDATION IS COMMITTED TO BREAKING CYCLES OF LOW LITERACY BY SUPPORTING THE LIBRARY IN WORKING WITH CHILDREN AND THEIR PARENTS/CAREGIVERS AT ALL 73 LIBRARY LOCATIONS, AND IN PARTNERSHIP WITHLOCAL SCHOOLS, CLINICS, AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, TO EXTEND LIBRARYRESOURCES TO AS MANY PARENTS AND EDUCATORS AS POSSIBLE. THE FOUNDATIONRAISES SUPPORT FOR THE LIBRARY TO OFFER A SERIES OF LITERACY RELATEDACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN THROUGH THE USE OF COMPUTER AIDES/CYBERNAUTS. THE FOUNDATION ALSO FUNDS A VARIETY OF ADULT LITERACY INITIATIVES WHICH HELP ADULTS IMPROVE THEIR READING AND WRITING ABILITIES IN ORDER TO SUCCEED IN LIFE, BREAK THE CYCLE OF ILLITERACY AND FOSTER A LOVE OF LIFELONG READING. THE FOUNDATION ALSO PROVIDES SUPPORT FOR THE LIBRARY'S SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, ART AND MATH PROJECTS VIA THE FULL STEAM AHEAD PROGRAM AS WELL AS FUNDS CAREER ONLINE HIGH SCHOOL, OFFERING ADULTS AN OPPORTUNITY TO EARN AN ACCREDITED HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA.
