State Conference & Workshops: PALS provides the organization and financial support to offer a conference for parents, students, and professionals working with individuals with Autism. One of the major conferences that PALS supports is the Annual Statewide Conference which is a three day event. The number of attendees for this conference in the year 2018 was 848. . In conjunction with the above conference, PALS offer a comprehensive 2-day workshop called "The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2)." ADOS-2 has become the standard instrument for assessing autism and PDD (Pervasive Developmental Disorder) across age, developmental level, and language skills. Participants learn how to use the ADOS clinical practice to assess and diagnose autism. In 2018, 62 people attended this workshop. The attendees are from all over Florida and some from other states and countries. . PALS also offered a 1-day workshop for the Hispanic community in Central Florida. All sessions were provided in Spanish related to autism spectrum disorders. This one-day conference was for parents of child that were Spanish/English speaking with autism. This conference provides a full day of sessions in spanish with childcare, lunch and vendors that support the ASD Hispanic community. It was hosted in Orange county with the attendees of 129.
