The mission of Interfaith Caregivers of Washington County is to 'connect seniors with caring volunteers.' Volunteers lend a caring and compassionate 'helping hand' with elder assistance and transportation. Our vision is that all of Washington County's most frail and elderly citizens will have access to resources necessary to maintain independence.

Healthy aging in place - senior assistance Interfaith focuses on removing the barriers to independence for seniors by providing volunteer assistance with tasks around the home that become more difficult with age. In 2019, we shifted from individual volunteer assistance to primarily offering help from volunteer groups. These groups help with requests for spring/fall yard clean-up, spring/fall housecleaning and help with small home repair inside and out. We also offer volunteer companionship and a canine caregivers - companionship visits with a volunteer and certified therapy dog. Volunteers also offer kindness calls - well check phone calls made to isolated seniors checking on health & well- being. Volunteers also provide food & essential delivery from grocery stores and food pantry. Volunteers also deliver meals on wheels and deliver food stock boxes from the food pantry. In 2019, 5,343 services were provided with 6,165 volunteer hours.
