Mission
United Way's mission is to unite community members and organizations and work together to accomplish shared goals. We're leading by example and acting as a model for unity and collaboration for our partners and funded agencies. Unifying creates efficiencies in overhead and allows us to focus our resources on building more cross-sector partnerships and expanding our strategic impact work throughout the entire northwestern Vermont region. By collaborating with funded agencies, government and community partners to invest in programs and develop cross-sector strategic initiatives. Our annual community campaign will raise funds and mobilize volunteers to support our work and serve every community in Chittenden, Franklin and Grand Isle counties.
About
Community investments: Through a multi-step process, a diverse group, which includes volunteers and board members, evaluates applications from local nonprofit agencies and makes funding decisions that help achieve community-determined priorities. UWNWVT awarded nearly 1,900,000 in agency allocations for 2017 and 2018 - funded through the undesignated portion of the organization's annual community campaign. UWNWVT also distributes donor-designated funds to both members and qualified non-member agencies based on amounts actually collected.
