Mission
Independence House helps all domestic violence and sexual assault victims and their children by creating opportunities to find safety and become empowered through crisis intervention, advocacy, counseling, referral, prevention outreach, education and inspiring change in our community. Our vision is to see domestic and sexual violence come to an end.
About
Independence House provided 14,000 hours of domestic violence advocacy, shelter, safety, counseling and safehoming assistance to over 10,000 survivors of domestic violence. Outcomes achieved include increased well-being, increased options for safety, and increased knowledge of healthy relationship signs and reduced negative impact of domestic violence on emotional well-being. Outreach and prevention activities increased community's knowledge about domestic violence and offered strategies for healthy relationships.
