There are an extraordinary large number of underprivileged at-risk students in our community who do not reach their potential or maximize their creative talents because lacking adequate support from home or school, they lose focus and eventually give up. A comprehensive action model for Peekskill, Inc. is a not for profit organization formed to provide educational, social, emotional, and financial support to underprivileged students and their families. Through public grants and private donations, we hope to forge a public/private partnership that will provide guidance and support to our underprivileged youth and place them on a path to success. The impetus for this project is the large number of students who over the years have demonstrated a talent in athletic, music, or the arts, but have been prohibited from participation interscholastic athletics, school clubs, and other activities.
