The Canaan Senior Service Center is a community based organization that reaches out to citizens 60 years of age or older in the Harlem community and beyond, to provide activities, programs and services which enhance their quality of life, diverse interests and needs.
About
Senior Services funded by the New York City Department for the Aging (DFTA):We are a congregate program which serves approximately 65 clients a day through various entities. Monday through Friday 9am-5pm. We serving breakfast & lunch to an average of 50 clients a day. We also offer Physical Health & Science exercise classes (i.e. Tai Chi, dance etc.); Health & Wellness (i.e.: Diabetes education, Foot care, Hypertension etc.); Arts & Culture (Jazz Concerts; Painting; Collages etc.) Education/Recreation (History, Spanish Language classes etc.); and Technology (computers, apps etc.).We also off transportation to and from the center, to medical appointments, or even to take the seniors to vote.
