Mission: Dancewave provides all NYC youth access to a supportive dance experience that embraces and encourages individuality and equips students with the life skills to unlock their full potential as people and community members. Vision: Dancewave envisions a world where, through access to the dance experience, youth become empowered individuals who contribute to the fabric of their communities… and beyond. Dancewave programs include: Pre-professional youth performing companies; School at Dancewave classes for youth and adults; low-cost rehearsal space for local dance and performing artists; Dancing Through College and Beyond, a national event connecting high school dancers with 50+ college dance departments, discussion panels, auditions and scholarships; and D-Wave in Motion, arts education outreach programs in NYC public schools and community centers throughout the five boroughs. By maintaining a robust Scholarship Initiative, Dancewave makes sure that all young people who love to dance can pursue that passion.

Dancewave is a nonprofit organization providing NYC youth and adults access to a supportive dance experience that embraces and encourages individuality. Dancewave envisions a world where, through access to the dance experience, youth become empowered individuals who contribute to the fabric of their communities.Dancewave has established a diverse roster of training programs. Dancewave's Community Programs brings dance residencies and master classes into NYC public schools and community centers in all five boroughs. The School at Dancewave provides youth and adults classes, for ages 2 and up, in various styles including ballet, modern, hip hop, jazz, creative ballet and creative movement. Students at Dancewave also have the opportunity to be a part of a pre-professional company from age 7-18. Company program members experience various performance opportunities, team building exercises, one on one mentorship and leadership experience. Teaching Artists apart of Dancewave's Community Programs and/or School at Dancewave classes must participate in an annual teacher training, Strategics for Young Artist Citizens. Beyond Dancewave's training programs, Dancewave holds an annual event for high school students looking to launch their dance careers by continuing to study in college. Dancewave's annual Dancewave Through College & Beyond event reaches over 300 students and provides students the opportunity to meet college alumni and faculty as well as audition for select colleges/universities.
