Established in 1917, the YM&YWHA of Washington Heights & Inwood (the Y) serves an ethnically and socio-economically diverse community, working to improve the quality of life for people of all ages through critical social services and innovative programs in health, wellness, education, and social justice while promoting diversity, equity and inclusion and caring for those in need.

The summer camp had 105 campers in the nursery camp and 549 campers in camp Twelve Trails summer camp. Camp Twelve Trails is a program of the YM & YWHA of Washington Heights and Inwood working in collaboration with Shames JCC on the Hudson and the Riverdale Y.
