The Economic Club of New York (the 'Club') is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, nonpolitical organization dedicated to the promotion of the study and discussion of social, economic and political questions. For more than a century, the club has served as the premier public forum for thought leaders of the United States and the world, to express a diverse set of views and opinions in a free and open environment. By embracing and promoting free expression of diverse views and opinions, the club effectively acts as a catalyst for innovation in thought and ideas impacting social, economic and political issues facing society.

The promotion of the study and discussion of economic, political and social questions. The club is recognized as the premier public forum in the United States. In 2018, the club hosted a total of 45 club events including 30 ticketed events featuring prominent national and international leaders attended by members and their guests and numerous members of the media. The club helps educate and cultivate the next generation through multiple programs. These include its ECNY Fellows program specifically designed for high performing, mid-career business leaders, the creation of a special term limit membership class for those 45 and under and via sponsoring university students to attend its events so they can also learn from the speakers and the discussion. For fiscal year 2018, there were 31 ECNY Fellows. 98 students attended events; 30 of which were member purchased tickets and 68 were sponsored by the club. The Jay Powell luncheon was the largest of 30 ticketed events.
