Mission
Learning Through An Expanded Arts Program, Inc. (LEAP) is dedicated to enhancing the educational experience of underprivileged students in New York City by integrating arts into their learning process. Their mission is to foster a love for learning, nurture creativity, and develop essential skills such as collaboration, communication, and critical thinking among diverse school communities, promoting access and equity in the arts domain.
About
After school programs: In 2017-2018, LEAP provided 28 full-service after school programs, in conjunction with the NYC Department of Youth & Community Development and the New York City Department of Education. These programs serve both elementary and middle school youth in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Upper Manhattan - served roughly 3,000 students from September to June. Program offerings across all school-based programs spanned arts enrichment, academic enhancement, leadership development, and athletic development. All programs concluded with culminating shows, with both school and community members present.
