Mission

The purposes for which Community Agency for Senior Citizens (CASC) was formed are: (a) To aid and counsel the members of the senior citizen community, as well as others in the city of New York, and particularly in the Staten Island area thereof, through consumer information programs, social and health services programs, and coordinated social and recreational programs. (b) To coordinate the activities and services available to the senior citizens community of the city of New York, and more particularly of Staten Island, by acting as a forum and information center for charitable, educational and social welfare service programs serving that community, and to this end to act in a liaison capacity with respect to all agencies, both private and governmental, carrying on such service programs. (c) To engage in public information programs with respect to the senior citizens community of the city of New York, and more particularly of Staten Island, and, in connection therewith, to support legi

NYC Department for the Aging Title IIIB: Providing comprehensive, community social services to older adults, age 60 years and older, in the forms of case assistance, including information and assistance with entitlements and benefits applications. Case management for home-bound older adults, including those receiving home delivered meals and NYS EISEP home care. Elder abuse prevention and intervention services for victims of elder abuse, including safety planning, education, counseling, advocacy, court accompaniment, lock replacement as well as community education. Transportation for food shopping, to/from senior centers, recreational trips and limited medical appointments. Two neighborhood senior centers, providing two hot meals daily, socialization, case assistance, educational, recreational, arts and culture and wellness programs. NY Connects, providing information and referral for long term care services and support needs for people of all ages with disabilities and their caregivers.
