See schedule o. Blue collar prep: Blue collar prep is a seven-week preapprenticeship training program for underemployed and unemployed women. The seven-week training program, held five days a week from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, is an intense program for a cohort of 25 students. New classes start every four to six weeks and are offered at no cost to all students. Students are provided with metrocards for travel to and from class. The comprehensive, innovative curriculum, developed in collaboration with union apprenticeship directors and employers, includes basic hands-on shop classes in carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, painting; lifting and carrying; trades math; and health and safety training.
