Annual conference: On April 5-7, 2019, Committee of 100 hosted its 2019 annual conference in New York City. Over 500 leaders in business, entertainment, government, academia, and the media participated in the premier conference on U.S.-China relations and Chinese-American advancement. The annual conference featured 7 topics: reflections and outlook from former U.S. ambassadors; the rise of China biopharma: opportunity, threat or both?; fintech or techfin? What's next for global financial services; celebrating the transcontinental railroad: 150 years of Chinese American contributions; the human connection: China and America in culture and entertainment; new engines for U.S.-China economic prosperity; and Chinese American journeys by C100 members. C100 honored its co-founder and governor I.M. Pei with the 'Lifetime Achievement Award for Global Architectural Design'; C100 member Morris Chang with the 'Lifetime Achievement Award for Global Technology Innovation', and Maurice R. Greenberg with the 'Lifetime Achievement Award for Advancing U.S.-China Relations'. 15-year old Peter Wang was given a posthumous award for embodying the best of American ideals and heroism.
