The HCHSAA is dedicated to the recruitment, development, and advancement of the gifted students and alumnae/i of Hunter College High School.

About

Grants to the high school: In fiscal year 2019, the HCHSAA, through its grants program, provided $153,095 to the high school for the following programs and activities: laptops for faculty use in the social studies and foreign language departments; ten real care babies to replace the ones in use before; health related books on gender identity, self-esteem, bullying; the debate team; the robotics team; the visiting artist series; continued funding for the established peer leadership program facilitated by seniors; the hallways program, which provided 24 social workshops to 9th and 10th graders; faculty/student trips that address diversity and inclusion: the national association of independent schools people of color conference in Nashville and the NYS association of independent schools diversity conference; and supplied weight room equipment. Each year the association also provides financial awards to students of special merit. In FY19 we presented seven awards to students totaling $6,375. Finally, the association provided an additional $475 for refreshments for the diversity open house extra-curricular activity
