About

The Napa Valley Youth Symphony was created in 2002 to provide talented young musicians an opportunity to perform together in a full symphonic orchestra. The Napa Valley Youth Symphony performs three major concerts per year and presents several master classes, education concerts and chamber music concerts each season. The Napa Valley Youth Symphony garnered many accolades over the past several seasons including recognition of achievement by United States Senator Barbara Boxer and an invitation to perform at Carnegie Hall. The young musicians come from many different schools in and around the Napa Valley area. The upper age limit is 25 years old. There is no minimum age. They are selected by audition, but no qualified musician is excluded because of financial need. Financial assistance is available in the form of reduced tuition and stipends to assist with travel expenses and supplies. The Napa Valley Youth Symphony provides the opportunity for the students to train in the manner of a professional orchestra. Seating and auditions are held prior to each concert. They are also coached each week by renowned professional musicians.
