SOUTH CENTRAL REGIONAL LIBRARY COUNCIL IS A NON-PROFIT, MULTI-TYPE LIBRARY CONSORTIUM WORKING TO STRENGTHEN LIBRARY SERVICES, PROGRAMS, AND RESOURCES. CONTINUING EDUCATION IS ONE OF ITS LARGEST PROGRAMS. THIS PAST YEAR, 51 EVENTS WERE HELD. THE WORKSHOPS, WEBINARS, CONFERENCES, MEETINGS, INTEREST GROUPS AND TRAININGS SERVED 904 LIBRARY WORKERS. SCRLC'S 78 ARCHIVED WEBINARS REACHED AN ADDITIONAL 851 VIEWERS. OFFERINGS INCLUDED ADVOCACY, DIVERSITY/EQUITY/INCLUSION, CUSTOMER SERVICE, SEXUAL HARASSMENT, PLANNING AND PREPAREDNESS, METADATA, AND WELLNESS. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES & SERVICES PROGRAM (RBDB-REGIONAL BIBLIOGRAPHIC & DATA BASES) ENABLED SCRLC TO PROVIDE THREE MAJOR DATABASES TO REGIONAL LIBRARIES AND FACILITATE THEIR PARTICIPATION IN VIRTUAL REFERENCE INITIATIVES AND OTHER RESOURCES INCLUDING LIBGUIDES. IT ALSO SUPPORTED DIGITIZATION AND RESOURCE SHARING EFFORTS. THE HOSPITAL LIBRARY SERVICES PROGRAM PROVIDED 17 HOSPITALS WITH HEALTH INFORMATION RESOURCES, WHICH IN TURN SUPPORTS IMPROVED PATIENT OUTCOMES. THIRTY-ONE MEMBERS PARTICIPATED IN THE STATEWIDE COLLABORATIVE DIGITIZATION PROGRAM, NEWYORKHERITAGE.ORG, CONTRIBUTING A TOTAL OF 8,369 ITEMS. 7,531 WERE CONTRIBUTED TO THE DIGITAL PUBLIC LIBRARY OF AMERICA.SCRLC'S PLAN OF SERVICE IS LOCATED AT http://www.scrlc.orgTHE ORGANIZATIONAL VISION AND GUIDING PRINCIPLES ARE AS FOLLOWS:SCRLC ENVISIONS A FUTURE WHERE NEW YORK STATE RESIDENTS HAVE EQUITY OF ACCESS TO INFORMATION AND RESOURCES ANYWHERE, ANYTIME.
