THIS YEAR THE ORGANIZATION TRAVELED TO 18 TOURNAMENTS IN DE, PA, MD, NY, AND NJ INCLUDING THE FIRST WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN HOUSTON, TX. TEAMS FROM THE ORGANIZATION RANGED IN SIZE FROM 5-45 STUDENTS AT EACH EVENT WITH APPROXIMATELY 3-15 ADULTS AND MENTORS VOLUNTEERING AT EACH COMPETITION. EXCLUDING THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP, THE AVERAGE ATTENDANCE AT EACH EVENT WAS OVER 500. FIRST STATE ROBOTICS PARTICIPATED IN 21 OUTREACH EVENTS INCLUDING FESTIVALS, PARADES, DEMONSTRATIONS AT MUSEUMS, SCIENCE PROGRAMS, AND VOLUNTEERED AT PROGRAM QUALIFIERS AND CHAMPIONSHIPS. THE PURPOSE OF THESE EVENTS IS TO SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT FIRST AND STEM. EACH TEAM THAT PARTICIPATED ATTENDED WITH 2-10 STUDENTS AND 2-6 ADULTS AND MENTORS. THROUGHOUT THIS YEAR, FIRST STATE ROBOTICS SPONSORED 11 EVENTS INCLUDING FIRST QUALIFIERS, CHAMPIONSHIPS AND EXPOS FOR JR. LEGO LEAGUE, LEGO LEAGUE AND FIRST TECH CHALLENGE . CHAMPIONSHIP EVENTS WERE HELD IN DOVER, DE. TOTAL TEAMS ATTENDING THESE EVENTS RANGED FROM 15-33, STUDENT PARTICIPATION RANGED FROM 75-200, AND REQUIRED 10-50 VOLUNTEERS. FIRST STATE ROBOTICS ALSO SPONSORED THEIR ANNUAL DUEL ON THE DELAWARE EVENT HELD AT SALEM COMMUNITY COLLEGE IN PENNS GROVE, NJ. A TOTAL OF 52 TEAMS FROM FIRST ROBOTIC CHALLENGE AND FIRST TECH CHALLENGE ATTENDED. TOTAL STUDENTS PARTICIPATING AT THIS EVENT WAS ~500 AND REQUIRED 100 VOLUNTEERS TO HOST THE EVENT.
