About

Part III Program Service Accomplishments (continued):As a result of the success of the AAHEF-designed strategy for capturing prescription drug savings in New Jersey, a growing number of State leaders and public sector employee representatives have sought information and education about how a similar strategy could be designed for their jurisdictions. Over the course of 2018, the Fund has responded on a non-partisan basis to inquiries from State policy makers (including senior administrators and legislative leaders from both parties) in several states, including Pennsylvania, New York, Montana, and California. In Pennsylvania, for example, the Fund presented a seminar for a bipartisan group of Republican and Democratic State legislators and their staffs on the AAHEF-designed strategic principles adopted by New Jersey. These in-depth policy presentations focus on common-ground principles framed non-ideologically as common sense fiscal policy for creating more transparent and dynamically competitive marketplaces for prescription drug pricing that will redirect prescription drug savings to State payers and beneficiaries, and ultimately, to taxpayers, without requiring cuts in prescription benefits for public employees. In the course of internal evaluation of the Funds 2018 public education activities, AAHEF began to map a plan to strengthen outreach of our public education to audiences that are not sufficiently aware of our policy design work and record of success in high-value care delivery transformation. The emerging plan includes redesign of the Americas Agenda website, www.americasagenda.org and a focus on capturing broader earned media coverage of the Funds work and its successful implementation. Concurrent with the activities above, the Fund continues our active research into a growing array of aligned, high-value care delivery models being designed and offered by innovative healthcare providers in the emerging post-ACA marketplace. The Fund will continue to evaluate health outcome and cost data from these programs. The Funds goals in this area remain focused on continuous learning, innovation, and dissemination of knowledge regarding best practices in the design of care delivery and development of public policy that expands access of American working families to more affordable, higher quality healthcare.
