The Campaign Against Hunger's (TCAH) mission is to empower our neighbors to lead healthier, more productive and self-sufficient lives by increasing their access to safe, nutritious food and related resources.

About

The first supermarket-style emergency feeding program in Brooklyn, serving as a model to other pantries who have now converted their pantries to our client-choice model. We were also the first pantry to institute its own urban farm to supplement the pantry provisions. Our social service offerings include free seasonal income-tax services, benefits access screenings, and on-site enrollment for SNAP, affordable healthcare and related services. Also serves as a hub for other related services such as processing of applications for HUD, SNAP, The Fresh Air Fund, discount MTA metro cards, Bronx Zoo employment referrals. We also distribute clothing and household items. Our wrap-around programming includes nutrition and wellness workshops, educational programs, and career opportunities for our teenage/young adult students. We provide afterschool and summer classes for young children, paid internships for at-risk teens, and urban farming initiatives for young adults. BSCAH offers employment anf financial literacy workshops, gardening and cooking workshops, as well as health initiatives.
