WAI rehired KDP for the third year of the US Department of Labor intermediary contract. KDP staff serve as sales & marketing, program analyst, and administrative for the manufacturing industry. KDP assists manufacturers and unions to develop apprenticeship nationally. KDP also works with local workforce boards, industry associations, American job centers, and training providers that include community colleges, career and technical centers, and training centers. WAI is required to register at least 450 apprentices each year to include hospitality apprentices in collaboration with two other partners. In year one, KDP assisted sponsors to start apprenticeships, add occupations, or expand recruitment for 427 manufacturing apprentices and managed $364,423 in reimbursements. For the second year, KDP helped to exceed the required outcomes and managed $304,881 of incentive funds for manufacturing apprenticeship sponsors to register 461 apprentices.
