SUPPORT FINE ARTS PROGRAM AT WESLEYAN SCHOOL

About

The Wesleyan Arts Alliance proudly supports the arts at Wesleyan, and it is our privilege to oversee the Wesleyan Artist Market. Going strong in its 21st year, the 2019 Market had great success bringing together the Wesleyan and Peachtree Corners communities. More than 90 professional artists and 30 student and faculty artists generated sales of more than $277,000, with net proceeds of more than $68,000. None of this would have been possible without our supporters, the hundreds of hours put in by many parent volunteers, our Arts Alliance members, and Market sponsors. KidsKreations sales and membership brought in more than $31,000. The Arts Alliance generated more than $90,000 in support for the fine arts at Wesleyan. School year 2018-2019, the Alliance fulfilled many fine arts needs by reinvesting over $78,000 directly into the Wesleyan fine arts programs. We were thrilled to be able to purchase sets, props and costumes for the Lower school's various grade level plays, props and warm-up suits for the Marching Band and Chorus, and complete a new sound system for Bowen cafeteria. The HS art program received new AP Art Tables from the WAA. The Arts Alliance also provided trip scholarships for the Marching Band and Chorus. This year the Arts Alliance board launched the "Dream Big" campaign to inspire the fine arts faculty, across all three divisions, to bring outstanding experiences to their Wesleyan students, which will be funded by the Arts Alliance. The board is very excited to hear what faculty members have dreamed up! We look forward to partnering with the Wesleyan community for an exciting upcoming year that will include productions of Sense and Sensibility and The Wizard of Oz, to name a few, and of course the 22nd Annual Wesleyan Artist Market!
