WOMEN'S HEALTH PROGRAM (WHP): THE WHP HAS NOW SCREENED OVER 80,000 WOMEN FOR CERVICAL CANCER AND ALSO PROVIDES COMPREHENSIVE SERVICES FOR FAMILY PLANNING, TREATMENT OF REPRODUCTIVE TRACT INFECTIONS AND BREAST CANCER SCREENING. WOMEN PAY FOR THE SERVICES PROVIDED AND CHEF FUNDS ARE USED TO PURCHASE EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES AS WELL AS SUBSIDIZING THE COSTS OF SERVICES FOR WOMEN WHO CAN NOT AFFORD THEM. SUBSIDIZING THE COST OF MEDICAL CARE. THE CAMEROON BAPTIST CONVENTION HEATH BOARD (CBCHS) PROVIDES "FEE FOR SERVICE" CARE TO ALL PATIENTS WHO NEED IT, BUT OFTEN PATIENTS ARE NOT ABLE TO PAY THESE LOW FEES BECAUSE OF POVERTY. THERE IS NO GOVERNMENT SUPPORT FOR THE COST OF HEALTH CARE AND NO INSURANCE COVERAGE. CHEF FUNDS SUBSIDIZE THE COST OF CARE THAT SAVES MANY LIVES AND PREVENTS OR CORRECTS SERIOUS DISABLING CONDITIONS. BLINDNESS AND IMPAIRED VISION IS A MAJOR PROBLEM IN CAMEROON. FOR THE PAST 3 YEARS, CHEF DONATIONS HAVE ENABLED BANSO BAPTIST HOSPITAL TO CONSTRUCT A LARGE OUTPATIENT AND INPATIENT EYE CARE FACILITY THAT WILL ENABLE MANY MORE PATIENTS TO RECEIVE APPROPRIATE EYE CARE THAT WILL RESULT IN FEWER CASES OF BLINDNESS AND IMPROVED VISION FOR THOUSANDS OF CAMEROONIANS.
