Mission

We save and transform lives in Africa. We lead regular surgical missions to Nigeria. Our Clinton Global Initiative program screens and treats vulnerable children and pregnant women for anemia, and we help mothers deliver babies safely. We also donate computers, books, medicine and sports fields to schools in Nigeria. Through our David Oyelowo Leadership Scholarship for Girls, we provide tuition, medical care, and social and psychological support to young female victims of terrorism and gender inequality. We proudly count among our supporters Oprah Winfrey, Brad Pitt, Daniel Craig, Chiwetel Ejiofor, David Oyelowo, Dr. Oz, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jimmy Kimmel, Chris Rock, Charlize Theron, Forest Whitaker, Disney, The Oscars, and NFL Hall of Famers Warren Moon and Ronnie Lott.

About

In November 2019, the Foundation led a medical mission to Nigeria focused on complex hip and knee surgeries. Surgery training and instruction was provided to the local surgeons and the Foundation donated much-needed medical supplies and equipment. The surgical team performed 33 surgical procedures on 31 patients in five and a half days, including the first distal femur surgery and first bilateral anterior hip surgeries in the organizations history. Also in 2019, the Foundation oversaw the funding and renovation of a maternity Center in Enugu, Nigeria. The Foundation donated 2,638 safe delivery-maternal health kits to 46 rural clinics throughout southeast Nigeria. The kits are used to help ensure the safe and successful delivery of thousands of indigent, pregnant women. Further, the Foundation expanded its anemia program in Nigeria and screened 10,540 Nigerian women and children, along with covering the cost of treatment for 4,912 pregnant women.
