IN THE 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR, THE MONTESSORI SCHOOL OF LOUISVILLE SERVED APPROXIMATELY 200 CHILDREN RANGING FROM THE AGES OF 18 MONTHS TO 14 YEARS OLD. MSL OPERATED THE FOLLOWING CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENTS: TWO TODDLER (AGES 18 TO 36 MONTHS), FOUR EARLY CHILDHOOD (AGES 3 TO 6 YEARS), TWO LOWER ELEMENTARY (AGES 6 TO 9 YEARS), ONE UPPER ELEMENTARY (AGES 9 TO 11 YEARS), AND ONE ADOLESCENT (AGES 12 TO 14 YEARS). EACH CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT WAS STAFFED WITH A MONTESSORI-CERTIFIED LEAD TEACHER AND A CLASSROOM ASSISTANT. AFTER-SCHOOL EXTENDED CARE WASSTAFFED WITH FOUR TEACHERS; AN EXTENSIVE SELECTION OF AFTER-SCHOOL CLUBS WERE OFFERED (E.G. CHESS, CHOIR, ART, DRAMA, TENNIS, SOCCER ANDSWIMMING). TWO FULL TIME ADMINISTRATORS, A FULL TIME OFFICE MANAGER, AND A FULL TIME FINANCIAL MANAGER SERVE AS SUPPORT FOR THE SCHOOL OPERATIONS.IN CONJUNCTION TO ITS ACCREDITATION BY THE SOUTHERN ASSOCIATION OF COLLEGES AND SCHOOLS COUNCIL FOR ACCREDITATION, MSL'S APPLICATION FORAMS (AMERICAN MONTESSORI SOCIETY) ACCREDITATION WAS ACCEPTED. TOGETHER AS A COMMUNITY, WE COMPLETED OUR THREE-YEAR COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT PLAN AND CREATED OUR NEW FIVE-YEAR STRATEGIC PLAN.THE SCHOOL COMMUNITY CONDUCTED AN ANNUAL FUND DRIVE, NUMEROUS PTO-LED FUNDRAISERS, A GALA AUCTION AND FESTIVAL OF THE ARTS.THESE ACTIVITIES PROVIDED RESOURCES FOR THE CREATION OF AN INDOOR MOVEMENT SPACE, AS WELL AS FUTURE TECHNOLOGY PURCHASES AND PROGRAM EXPANSION.
