Mission Ensuring an effective system of response for youth in crisis through public and private partnerships at a local, state and national level. Vision National Safe Place Network envisions a world where all youth are safe. National Safe Place Network (NSPN) operates nationally-recognized programs, including Safe Place®, a youth outreach and prevention program for youth in need of immediate help and safety. More than 20,000 businesses and community locations participate as Safe Place sites – such as restaurants, convenience stores, fire stations, public buses, and libraries. These locations display the Safe Place sign and connect youth in crisis with resources and supports. Safe Place also provides a national text-for-support program, TXT 4 HELP. Teens can text the word “SAFE” to 4HELP (44357) and access options to locate the nearest Safe Place and text one-on-one with a counselor. TXT 4 HELP is available 24/7/365. In addition to Safe Place, NSPN provides quality training, capacity building, and technical support to youth and family service organizations across the nation. NSPN also serves as the Runaway and Homeless Youth Training and Technical Assistance Center (RHYTACC). This Center provides training assistance in a variety of forms for federally funded grantees providing shelter, transitional housing, maternity group homes and street outreach to runaway and homeless youth across the united states. These services include national conferences, on site technical assistance, webinars, an electronic training library, communities of practice interactive site for providers, resource guides and tip sheets, regional trainings and telephone consultation. For 2018, these services had the following results: the highest number of attendees (757) at the national training with 98% reporting strongly agree on the evaluation regarding increased learning and satisfaction; ten regional meetings with overall attendance of approximately 300 in attendance; approximately 13,000 users of the e-learning system; and numerous tip sheets and training documents and webinars developed NSPN also serves as the Runaway and Homeless Youth Training and Technical Assistance Center (RHYTTAC). This center provides training assistance in a variety of forms for federally funded grantees providing shelter, transitional housing, maternity group homes and street outreach to runaway and homeless youth across the United States. These services include national conferences, on site technical assistance, webinars, an electronic training library, communities of practice interactive site for providers, resource guides and tip sheets, regional trainings and telephone consultations. For 2018, these services on human trafficking, serving the RHY population and other identified T/TA needs. NSPN member services include a base membership offering reduced fees to training, advocacy, alerts and networking opportunities. Specialized packages, such as Training, Organizational development and Professional Development are also options. These offer members things, such as, funding proposal review, capacity assessment reviews. e-learning options, youth worker certification training, succession planning, consultation, executive coaching, crisis debrief for staff and volunteers, and onsite training options.
