Mission
To educate the public regarding the plight of unwanted horses and those that go to slaughter.
About
Horse adoption - SBR works with about 100 horses each year. After over 10 years of operations, there is a mix of horses which we have saved from slaughter and other horses which require re-homing from being previously adopted out where the adopting party can no longer keep the horse. The new horses saved often require rehabilitation which can take months. SBR also absorbs the cost of re-evaluating those rescue horses that have been returned. Since early 2006 the rescue has placed for adoption over 1,000 horses.
