THE DELAWARE COUNTY VETERANS MEMORIAL (DCVM) SERVES AS AN INTERACTIVE EDUCATIONAL VENUE TO HONOR THE MILITARY SERVICE OF ALL VETERANS FOR PAST, PRESENT, AND FUTURE SACRIFICES. WORKING WITH LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT ADMINISTRATORS, TEACHERS, VETERANS, HISTORIANS AND CIVIC LEADERS, THE DCVM EDUCATION COMMITTEE HAS DEVELOPED A CURRICULUM BASED, AGE APPROPRIATE PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS IN GRADES K THROUGH 12 SO THAT THEY HAVE A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE FOUNDATION OF OUR NATION AND THOSE WHO FOUGHT TO KEEP THE UNITED STATES STRONG. DURING THE 20182019 SCHOOL YEAR A TOTAL OF 2511 STUDENTS REPRESENTING 11 DELAWARE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICTS, ALONG WITH PRIVATE, PAROCHIAL AND HOME SCHOOLERS, WERE INTRODUCED TO CURRICULUM BASED LESSONS ON THE HISTORY AND THE FOUNDING OF OUR NATION, THE MEANING AND HISTORY OF MEMORIALS, THE IMPORTANCE OF SYMBOLISM, AND ENJOYED ONEONONE INTERACTION WITH VETERANS, HISTORIANS, CIVIC LEADERS, ELECTED OFFICIALS, BUSINESS LEADERS, AND MILITARY FAMILIES. THESE SCHOOLS INCLUDE, CHESTER UPLAND SCHOOL OF THE ARTS, WALLINGFORD ELEMENTARY, NETHER PROVIDENCE ELEMENTARY, ROSE TREE ELEMENTARY, RUSSELL ELEMENTARY, GARRETTFORD ELEMENTARY, DREXEL NEUMANN ACADEMY, PENNELL ELEMENTARY, ASTON ELEMENTARY, PARKSIDE ELEMENTARY, ST. MARY MAGDALEN, TINICUM, CHESTER COMMUNITY CHARTER SCHOOL. CHATHAM PARK, DARBY TOWNSHIP, WALLINGFORD SWARTHMORE/TRINITY KINDERGARTEN AND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM, ST.
