About

Since 2006, Uplift Charity Corporation has taken a hands-on approach to assist and empower local families who face dire financial situations. Assistance to refugees and local people in the most challenging situations facing eviction, turned off utilities, food and clothing needs, and even transportation assistance to get to work. In the recent fiscal year, 2016-2017, UPLIFT experienced substantial growth. Over 200 calls are received in an average month. In understanding and solving for the root cause of many of the applicants distressed calls, weve introduced new programs this year, and improved upon the existing ones. An exciting undertaking in 2017 was launching UPLIFTs weekly Tutoring Program for refugee children. These children face difficulty early on and need guidance and assistance. Another is the Vehicle Donation Program. It has grown to a point where we now give an average of three cars per month to assist families in getting to school, appointments, and most importantly to work. UPLIFT case managers find employment for an average of 10 individuals each month. This is the single most important service we can provide any family or individual. We introduced a food pantry which is serving 400 people per month in the city of Anaheim. I an average month, UPLIFT assists more than 200 families, receives referrals from more than 30 organizations, and serves families in more than 50 cities in Southern CA. Along with the above, UPLIFT conducts annual programs like the Summer Food Box program, distributing over 30 tons of food in a single weekend. Other programs are mostly catered towards homeless families and those with unstable shelter the MLK Day of Service, Humanitarian Day, Winter warm clothing and Blankets distribution to the homeless, Upland Community Health Fair, assistance to families living in motels, and an annual Dinner with the Homeless.
