Mission

The Choir School of Delaware is a comprehensive, multifaceted, year-round enrichment program that has a strong legacy of serving and engaging Wilmington's youth and families through music and mentoring. We provide professional musical training, leadership and language skills, academic support, and college-bound mentoring in an intergenerational environment for youth in Wilmington, Delaware and surrounding regions.

About

'Harmonizing life and learning' CCSD's after-school music education and mentoring programs are fully integrated. Music instruction is used as a basis for learning; math and reading skills are necessary to perform music. In turn, those skills are honed and applied to other academic pursuits. We offer professional choral training, piano, voice and musicianship lessons with opportunities for performance and travel. Students also receive academic tutoring, one-on-one mentoring, leadership opportunities and participate in enrichment activities. Music lessons enhance musicianship and foster skills such as discipline and abstract reasoning that are transferrable to other academic pursuits. Continued on SCH O.
