In 2019, HBI-DC participated in 75 community events in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, providing in-person education to 3146 individuals in the community and free health screenings. As a result, over 70 individuals were linked to care and/or treatment services in 2019.On community impact, 2251 individuals were screened for HBV,.58 (75.3%) individuals who tested positive were linked to care and made their first appointment; 5 (6.5%) did not make their first appointment; 9 (11.7%) went to their own doctor; 4 (5.2%) were lost because they provided incorrect contact information; and 1 (1.3%) left the country. Seondly, 2450 individuals were screened for HCV. 39 (55%) individuals with HCV RNA confirmatory had elevated viral load (of this number, 16 (41%) individuals were linked to care and made their first appointment; 5 (12.8%) went to their own doctor; 3 (7.7%) were referred, but did not make their first appointment; 9 (23.1%) were already being treated by their own doctor; and 6 (15.4%) needed further testing). Lastly, 681 individuals were screened for HIV. 1 (50%) individual who tested positive is under his/her own doctor?s care service 1 (50%) individual who tested positive already knew his/her status and did not want to respond to HBI-DC?s linkage to care services.
