About
All services are geared toward direct patient care. The Medical Center had 13,324 admissions and 59,037 patient days plus 227,344 outpatient visits and 7,448 same day surgery procedures. The Medical Center also provides other community services. The Student Health Awareness Center provides health education and information, as well helping girl and boy scouts to earn badges. The Clinic also provides specialty services such as OBGYN, pediatric, neurology, cardiology, and many others. CentraState established a community advisory council designed to access community health needs. The ER's "Buckle Up" program works with the local Police to check vehicles for seat belt use. An award winning program First Impressions helps new parents to cope with the change in their lifestyle. The Medical Center provides Charity Care to patients who meet certain criteria defined by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services ("DOHSS") without charge or at amounts less than established rates. The amount of Charity Care provided during the year, based on charges the Medical Center established, was approximately $21.0 million.
