Mission
The LMPPA was established on April 12th, 1924 in the Court of Common Pleas by a Citizens Committee with the purpose of providing officers that retired after serving at least 20 years with a small monthly pension.
About
The Lower Merion Police Pension Association was started by the community in 1924 in order to show gratitude to retired officers for a job well-done after being employed as active Police Officers in Lower Merion Township or Narberth Borough. Most of us are aware of the risks associated with this job, and in today’s world that risk is growing. Our officers are hard-working and generous, both on and off the clock as evidenced by the more than 10,000 calls that are answered each year. Therefore, the LMPPA provides these fine officers with a supplemental small pension and death-benefit insurance policy in their retirement. This gift is solely funded by our generous Lower Merion and Narberth residents, and once a year we ask that you contribute to these 115 retired men and women. The amount of a gift is never so important as the desire to give, and that gift becomes a part of this fund.
