DURING FISCAL YEAR 2018, THE HENRY ORGANIZED THE TIME. THE PLACE., A MUSEUM-WIDE EXHIBITION OF CONTEMPORARY ART, INCLUDING WORKS BY NAN GOLDIN, GARY HILL, AN-MY L, KORI NEWKIRK, SHIRIN NESHAT, AND FRED WILSON. IN ADDITION, THE MUSEUM PRESENTED EXHIBITIONS BY, AMONG OTHERS, KRAFT DUNZ, SUMMER WHEAT, DORIS TOTTEN CHASE, DEMIAN DINYAZHI', MARTHA FRIEDMAN, IF YOU DON'T THEY WILL, AND JACOB LAWRENCE. THE EXHIBITIONS MET OUR GOALS TO GENERATE NEW SCHOLARSHIP, CONNECT THE PUBLIC WITH ARTISTS WORKING AT THE GLOBAL LEVEL, AND ADD TO THE CREATIVE CAPITAL OF OUR REGION. WE FURTHERED OUR COMMITMENT TO EMERGING TALENT THROUGH ORGANIZING AND PRESENTING THE UNIVERSITY OF WASHINGTON MASTER'S OF FINE ARTS AND MASTER'S OF DESIGN EXHIBITION.THE HENRY UPDATED ITS PUBLIC AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS TO INCREASE COMMUNITY IMPACT. WE FUNDED AND ORGANIZED THE HENRY'S TEEN ART COLLECTIVE (HTAC), WHICH ENGAGED STUDENTS FROM NINE REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOLS THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL YEAR. THE HENRY'S FREE, MONTHLY ARTVENTURE WORKSHOPS INVITED PARENTS, CAREGIVERS, AND CHILDREN TO PARTICIPATE WITH LOCAL ARTISTS IN WORKSHOPS PROMOTING INTERGENERATIONAL LEARNING. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH UW AND COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS, WE WELCOMED VISITING ARTISTS, CURATORS, AND CULTURAL LEADERS FOR LECTURES AND PERFORMANCES, AND REALIZED NUMEROUS K-20 EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVES.FREE ADMISSION TO THE MUSEUM WAS OFFERED TO 39,084 VISITORS (76% OF OUR AUDIENCE).
