The M-A PTA provides Menlo-Atherton High School with volunteers and essential classroom supplies and equipment, publishes the official school newsletter, and funds many amazing programs, including Challenge Day, graduation programs, scholarships, grants for teachers and staff, parent education, staff appreciation events, student publications, student planners, and more!


The Menlo-Atherton PTA works in partnership with the Menlo-Atherton High School administration and staff to enhance the experience of all members of the M-A community. Membership is open to all parents, school administrators, staff, and students. The PTA keeps parents informed about school activities, raises funds to support educational and outreach programs, and organizes and provides volunteers for many activities that contribute to making M-A a unique and special school that supports and nurtures all students. Among other activities: The PTA facilitates communication between home and school through the weekly BearNotes newsletter and supports and connects parents with Parent Socials and funding for the Parent Education Series. The PTA awards grants to teachers, staff, and student clubs twice a year to fund special projects, books, teaching materials, equipment, and presentations. The PTA funds the M-A annual planners, as well as student publications The Mark and The Chronicle. The PTA sponsors student scholarships and assistance funds, and runs the California Scholarship Federation program at M-A. The PTA sponsors and provides volunteers for Challenge Day. The PTA supports school staff by providing volunteers for when needed, and by hosting various appreciation events throughout the year, including the annual appreciation luncheon. The PTA provides a representative to the SDMSC (Shared Decision Making Site Council), and facilitates the election of two parent representatives to the SDMSC as well as the parent representative to the Site Council (the policy and decision-making bodies for the school). The PTA organizes Senior Week activities including the Senior Lunch and Grad Night and decorates the graduation stage.
