About

Meals on Wheels - Our community-based home delivered meal program (aka Meals on Wheels) makes it possible for frail older adults, aged 60 and over, to remain independent in their homes by providing daily delivery of a nutritious meal. Each of the meals is reviewed by a registered dietician through the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging to ensure that they provide a minimum of one-third of the daily recommended nutritional allowances seniors need for good health. Additionally, a brief visit from the volunteers who deliver the meals serves as both a friendly visit and a chance to check on the seniors well-being. In 2018, 541 volunteers delivered 170,220 meals to approximately 1,031 homebound, frail and disabled seniors Monday thru Friday from five locations across Lake County, Ohio. All meals are provided at no cost, though a donation is gratefully accepted.
