About
The year 2019 saw the grand opening of the Fort Wayne Parks newest park, Promenade Park on the south bank of the St. Marys River in downtown Fort Wayne. The urban park experienced attendance and fanfare in 2019 far in excess of projections. The foundation successfully provided the funding for the focal point of the park, The Pavilion, an architectural structure that incorporated the use of locally sourced building materials, original timber recovered from the local segment of the Erie Canal, and tasteful modern design that will allow gatherings for local businesses and families. Public reception was outstanding.
