OUR AGENCY PROVIDES AN INTENSIVE PSYCHIATRIC RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT FACILITY FOR BOYS AND GIRLS FROM 5 TO 18 YEARS OLD. THIS PROGRAM SERVES CHILDREN WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED A WIDE RANGE OF SERIOUS TRAUMAS AND AS A RESULT HAVE SIGNIFICANT DIAGNOSTIC, THERAPEUTIC AND SAFETY CONCERNS THAT REQUIRE 24 HOUR TREATMENT. EACH CHILD'S INDIVIDUALIZED TREATMENT PLAN IS DEVELOPED BY THE TREATMENT TEAM AND INCLUDES THE CHILD, FAMILY, PSYCHIATRIST, THERAPIST, NURSE, CASE MANAGER,EDUCATION REPRESENTATIVE, AND REPRESENTATIVES FROM CHILD-SERVING AGENCIES. THIS FISCAL YEAR, WE SERVED 109 DIFFERENT CHILDREN PROVIDING 19,458 DAYS OF TREATMENT. As we continuously strive to improve the quality of our program and the skill of our staff, we added 2 clinical therapists to support the Residential program and to support development of new staff. As a result, we increased the number of specialized groups provided for clients and added groups for anger management and trauma focused ECT. We also provided numerous system wide training for both direct care and clinical staff in START, Diversity, documentation writing, Trauma Informed Care and AF-CBT. We successfully completed our JCAHO re-accreditation too. Other program enhancements include increasing our Sanctuary family forums to twice a year vs annually, increasing our recreation department staff and integrating a theater experience for the children in conjunction with the Erie Playhouse. And, we established new Appointment Coordinator position to ensure that all RTF clients have the appropriate community consultation and follow up for their medical needs. To continue meeting the demand for the PRTF service we provide, we are ready to break GROUND FOR A NEW 12-BED RESIDENTIAL UNIT. THIS WILL ADD TWELVE MORE SINGLE OCCUPANCY ROOMS WHICH ARE FREQUENTLY REQUIRED FOR THE CLIENTS WE SERVE. We continued our collaboration WITH ALLEGHENY COUNTY participating in an initiative for monitoring Body Mass Index (BMI) for Allegheny children. We tracked and reported data to the County, participated in select training and joined various meetings with the county and other participating providers.
