Furthermore, the Jewish Community Council of Erie created and administers the Holocaust Education Bus Fund.This fund, provides transportation to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C., for qualifying secondary school students from Erie and northwestern Pennsylvania.These trips are intended to be part of secondary school courses or programs that, among other goals, instruct participants on the significance of the Holocaust in Jewish and world history, and convey the relevance of the struggle of human rights by peoples throughout the world.Since 2005, we have sponsored about 4,000 students and 350 teachers/chaperones.
