Guide dogs trained to find and follow a clear path, maneuver around obstacles and stop at curbs. Service dogs specifically trained to help people who have disabilities other than visual impairment. Some of the tasks the service dogs provide are assistance with balance and stability; retreiving dropped items to prevent falls or carrying items in a backpack. The assistance dogs also offer emotional suuport for service men and women who deal with combat stress, home front issues and sleep disorders.
