More about this organization

Mission

Voz is a worker-led organization that empowers immigrants and day laborers to gain control over their working conditions through leadership development, organizing, and community education. We operate the MLK Jr. Worker Center, the only day laborer worker center in the state of Oregon, where we connected hundreds of day laborers to thousands of local employers per year.

About

Worker Center Program: Voz operated the MLK Jr. Worker Center, a safe community space where day laborers seek employment, participate in workforce development trainings, and access to labor protections resources. In 2018, 500 day laborers were connected to over 2,500 regional employers, and earned a total of $450,000 in wages through these jobs. We expanded the workforce development and health and safety trainings to improve day laborer employability for 250 workers.
