Mission
Tenants Together is a statewide coalition of local tenant organizations dedicated to defending and advancing the rights of California tenants to safe, decent, and affordable housing. As California’s only statewide renters’ rights organization, Tenants Together works to improve the lives of California’s tenants through capacity-building, movement-building, and statewide advocacy. Tenants Together seeks to support and strengthen the statewide movement for renters’ rights.
About
Our three largest service areas are (1) tenants rights outreach and assistance. Tenants Together operates a hotline and tenant rights clinics. We directly assisted over 1000 tenant households in this fiscal year; (2) education and technical assistance for tenant organizers and advocates. Tenants Together regularly conducts webinars, trainings and provides advice to improve and strengthen the work of tenant lawyers, counselors and organizers in California; (3) legal representation. Tenants Together provided legal representation to tenants in housing discrimination, habitability, retaliatory eviction, and other tenants rights cases.
