The Friends of the European Foundation for Democracy (FEFD) contributes grants to the European Foundation for Democracy (EFD), a Brussels-based non-profit organization dedicated to upholding Europe's fundamental principles of individual freedom and equality of all citizens. These principles are being challenged by rapid social change due to immigration, increasing intolerance, and the growing influence of extremist ideologies worldwide. EFD works with grassroots activists, media, policy experts and government officials throughout Europe to identify constructive responses to these challenges.
