Mission

To implement the project 'Dancing Classrooms' into the schools throughout Northeast Ohio.

About

During the 2018-2019 school year, Dancing Classrooms Northeast Ohio (DCNEO) served 99 classrooms (2,376* students) throughout Cuyahoga, Lorain, Summit, and Stark counties. *Based on an average of 24 students/classroom. DCNEO's project goals are centered on improving the educational experience of all students involved in a Dancing Classrooms residency. We intend that our program will foster maturity and respect among participating students and produce tangible progress in their lives, including: - increased school attendance - decreased dropout rates - increased social skills and self-confidence - improved overall academic performance. An additional benefit of the DCNEO program is improved behavior: as we teach the students to be ladies and gentlemen, that standard is carried over into their daily classroom activity, improving their behavior and increasing academic productivity. Improved student behavior and classroom productivity can help to decrease teacher turnover rates in schools, while increased attendance rates can in turn lead to improved graduation rates. As students learn to carry themselves as ladies and gentlemen, they learn appropriate and necessary behaviors and life skills that will help them throughout their educations and during crucial times such as job interviews.
