Mission
Hands4Hope - Youth Making a Difference is a youth led education and community engagement organization with the mission of inspiring and empowering youth in leadership and service. Hands4Hope strives to develop and nurture young leaders in our community into socially responsible, civic minded residents who have compassion for those in need; who engage in action to bring about change; and who work for a safe, vital community. Hands4Hope youth create and plan their own projects to support local charities and address unmet community needs. Along the way, they gain experience and skills in creative leadership, financial literacy, organizational cooperation and project management, attributes essential to success in the workforce and in college, but not taught inside the classroom.
About
Youth development - youth learn to be civic minded and socially responsible through this education program. Youth work together through the stages of service learning to explore areas of need in their communities, then take action by organizing and implementing projects to help fill those needs. In 2019, Hands4Hope youth organized and implemented 75 projects, including food drives, a school supply drive & distribution, fundraisers to fill needs for foster children, and dinners for vets. Through this program 480 youth were engaged and more than 1,000 individuals in need benefited from these youth run projects.
