Bayareachess continues to grow its afterschool programs to train interested school age children the game of chess and then higher level skills in chess. Once competitors gain the confidence and skill, tournaments are available to allow them to exercise these skills in a fun and stimulating way. They are rewarded with trophies and prizes for their efforts. Bayareachess has increased the number of locations of its tournaments to meet its ever increasing participation. Bayarea chess hosted many chess tutoring sessions at local schools as well as many tournaments enabling students and interested community members to apply new skills learned including strategizing, projecting in advance and good sportsmanship and courtesy.
