About

VINSON HALL RETIREMENT COMMUNITY IS A LIFE PLAN COMMUNITY SUPPORTED BY NAVY MARINE COAST GUARD RESIDENCE FOUNDATION (NMCGRF). SINCE VINSON HALL OPENED ITS DOORS IN 1969 AS A RETIREMENT HOME FOR THE WIDOWS OF MILITARY OFFICERS, IT HAS GROWN INTO A VIBRANT SENIOR LIVING COMMUNITY, HOME TO NEARLY 400 INDIVIDUALS. THROUGH THE YEARS, VHRC HAS EXPANDED BUT MAINTAINED ITS MILITARY CONNECTION. THOSE WHO LIVE IN VHRC'S INDEPENDENT LIVING COMMUNITY ARE RETIRED MILITARY OFFICERS OR CAREER GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS AND THEIR FAMILIES. IN ADDITION TO INDEPENDENT LIVING, VHRC PROVIDES HOUSING AND SERVICES FOR ASSISTED LIVING (22 BEDS), NURSING CARE (49 BEDS), AND MEMORY CARE (36 BEDS). THESE LEVELS OF CARE ARE OPEN TO PUBLIC. NMCGRF SUPPORTS VHRC BY RAISING FUNDS THROUGH 3 INITIATIVES: RESIDENCE ASSISTANCE FUND, INNOVATION AND ENHANCEMENT, AND WOUNDED WARRIOR TRANSITIONAL HOUSING. NMCGRF'S RESIDENT ASSISTANCE FUND SUPPORTS RESIDENTS WHO, THROUGH NO FAULT OF THEIR OWN, HAVE DEPLETED THEIR ASSETS. WITH NMCGRF'S SUPPORT, A VHRC RESIDENT IS NEVER ASKED TO LEAVE BECAUSE OF AN INABILITY TO PAY. THROUGH OUR INNOVATION AND ENHANCEMENT INITIATIVE, NMCGRF SUPPORTS NEW PRACTICES AND TECHNOLOGY THAT CAN BENEFIT TODAY'S SENIORS. WOUNDED WARRIOR TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROVIDES HOUSING FOR WOUNDED, ILL, OR INJURED VETERANS WHO ARE READY TO TRANSITION TO THE NEXT CHAPTER OF THEIR LIVES.
